everybody's heard about the bird.

i'm part of another artist collab. for a shirt for teefury.

for those unfamiliar with teefury, they have a couple of birds as part of their logo. they utilize them more as characters. a slew of artists were asked to dream up their version of one of the birds to put together on an omnibus shirt.



mine is just low of dead center, the bird skull on top of the starburst.

i put together a new design mixing classic american art (end of the trail) and some more iconic pop culture.

the pose is one of mj's classics, and the cover art (although originally a full white background) is from his "number ones" release.

i re-entered the fray at loiter ink by submitting this design, so here's hoping this design (minus the lp sleeve trappings) will be on a shirt near you sometime soon.

shirt.woot had to pull the color count down a bit (originally had 8 colors) and i dig it. i miss the shading i had done, of course, but for a cheaper printing solution, i think this works in spades:

edit: i just got my overnight gojirawk shirts (that was unnervingly fast) and i have to admit, i was unsure about the colors from looking at the mockup on the shirt.woot sale page, but it really turned out sweet looking. i am really proud of this print!
